Services:The CLCM offers trainings and workshops to parents, professionals, and youth regarding children’s legal rights.  These trainings and workshops can cover a variety of topics, including education law, juvenile justice/delinquency law, CHINS law, care and protection/abuse and neglect law, and issues surrounding “aging out” of foster care. 

Ages Served: All ages        Languages Served:  English, Espanol; arrangements for other languages can be made

Eligibility restrictions:  Trainings and workshops geared toward helping low income children and families

Fees:  Trainings/workshops provided free of charge

Hours of operation:  Trainings scheduled on a case by case basis

Services: Provide information/technical assistance to callers with questions concerning juvenile justsice/delinquency, abuse and neglect, education and CHINS laws.  The CLCM offers direct representation to  children in abuse and neglect, CHINS, and juvenile delinquency cases only through court-assignment.   Direct representation for these types of cases cannot be obtained through calling our legal hotline.  The CLCM does, however, offer both information/technical assistance and direct representation through our legal hotline in educational matters

Ages Served: Children up to age 22                 Languages Served:  All languages; have in house Spanish capabilities

Eligibility restrictions:  Representation is based on court indigence guidelines

Fees:  Services provided free of charge

Services: Offer direct representation to children in need of educational advocacy due to school discipline and/or special education needs

Ages Served: Children up to age 22                 Languages Served:  All languages

Eligibility restrictions:  Representation provided to children whose families fall within 125% of the Federal Poverty guidelines and may accept cases on a discretionary basis if the family’s income level falls within 150% of the guidelines.

Fees:  Services provided free of charge

Services:HAWC legal advocates (staff and volunteers) assist victims in obtaining restraining orders in 5 district courts (Lynn, Salem, Peabody, Gloucester, and Ipswich Court in Newburyport) and at the Salem Probate and Family Court.

Services: Wide range of legal services, including:  Community Development/Organizing (assistance to groups, start up non-profits, tenant and other groups, to establish and maintain a voice in the community), Consumer/Debtor Help (assistance with credit cards, car loans, or mortgage debt issues),  Elder Law Help (referring clients to Greater Lynn Senior Services for intake/screening and referral to Neighborhood Legal Services), Family Law Help (telephone advice on family law matters, assistance with filing uncontested divorces, and direct representation for domestic violence victims, Housing Law Help (assistance with evictions, subsidy terminations, public housing issues, infomraiton on housing issues), Immigration Law Help (telephone advice on immigration issues), Public Benefits Help (assistance with denial, reduction or termination of welfare benefits, MassHealth, SSI/SSDI, Emergency Assistance shelter denials or terminations), and Unemployment Benefits Denials (assistance preparing for unemployment benefits hearings)
